Diatomaceous Earth is the fossilized shells of unicellular microscopic water-dwelling plants known as Diatoms.

In prehistoric times masses of Diatoms existed in water masses across Planet Earth. During their approximate 6 day existence these tiny unicellular plants use soluble silica (sand) from their environment to make their cell walls. When these organisms die, their shells sink to the bottom of the water masses in which they lived to form thick beds of sediment.

Over time these beds, called Diatomite or Diatomaceous Earth form deposits where once ancient lakes existed and are mined to extract what we have come to understand as 1 of the most valuable and resourceful organic alternatives to many of the modern day chemical threats we have created to serve us as pesticides, herbicides, soil enhancers and insecticides.

There are different types of Diatomaceous Earth but non more valuable in its application than what we offer to meet our company’s vision:-
